About ME
Marlin Ousley is an author and the founder of Circle Six Publishing. A native of Miami, Florida, Marlin exhibits the uncanny ability to capture the pulse of the streets with intelligence, strong character development, and well thought out story lines. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and an Associate’s Degree in Public Relations.
By his own admission Marlin Ousley A.K.A. “SIX” wasted his young life chasing street dreams and street credibility. Like so many others, life passed him by. It was not until he was arrested and sent to prison that he realized he had to change. Now Marlin is ready to reintroduce himself to his community and to the world.
Marlin recently launched his own publishing company while serving his prison sentence. He has already published seven novels titled “Taking No Shorts pts 1,2 & 3,” “Corporate Thug pts 1 & 2″ and “Chasin’ Paper pts 1 & 2.” He has also penned another 14 novels, which will soon be released. Through his publishing company, Circle Six Publishing, the first renditions of his fictional novels uses Miami as a backdrop. In retrospect Marlin sees that the life he was living resulted in negative attention and consequences.
Marlin said that he has reinvented himself in order to be a role model. “I realized that I had to make a change, not only for myself but also for my kids, grandkids and the younger generation coming up after me. I want to show others that mistakes don’t define who you are, regardless of how we live. It’s important for people to understand that regardless of your situation or circumstance, you can make a change. If I can do it from inside, so can you.”
During his 25 years of incarceration Marlin has nurtured his love of writing, and he soon realized that he too could become an author. That was when he decided to launch his own publishing company. Marlins first three novels “Taking No Shorts pts 1, 2 & 3″ focus on Frenchie, a young man coming home from prison with very few opportunities to succeed. To survive he returns to the only thing he knows ( The Streets ) before realizing that he’s not a victim. Instead, he becomes the master of his life and destiny. Marlin’s fourth and fifth novels “Corporate Thug pts 1 & 2″ focus on Brad Wesley, a Corporate executive living a double life. When his two worlds begin to collide, he desperately fights to hold it all together before it’s too late. But, as everyone knows, nothing is ever guaranteed when dealing with the hood.
Marlin’s sixth and seventh novels “Chasin’ Paper pts 1 & 2″ focus on two childhood friends who decide to rob a bank. After escaping with the cash, they get so much more than they bargained for. When two of the neighborhood jack boys get on their trail it turns into a game of survival. When things begin to get heated, it all boils down to one thing… everybody’s Chasin’ Paper.
